About TLI Reading Courses
TLI offers reading courses a few times a year, each based on a Tibetan texts by a great master. We have developed translation workbooks: their form has evolved over the years to become more and more useful for the novice reader/translator.
The very popular classes based on these texts allow the students to have the joy of working with actual Tibetan Dharma texts as they are guided syllable-by-syllable through a reading. Lectures include discussion of grammar and vocabulary as well as of important Dharma concepts.

These courses are open to those who have completed the Level II Course. Students tell us that they both learn a lot and have a great deal of fun exploring and translating Tibetan.
Schedule: Thursdays 5-6:30 Pacific Time
6-7:30 pm Mountain Time
7-8:30 pm Central Time
8-9:30 pm Eastern Time
Registration: $165-$180 for entire course (not including class materials)

Students will be sent the telephone number and access code a few days before the class starts.
Type of Telephone: Regular phone line works best for teleconference calls. Cell phones also work, but Skype cannot be used because it creates too much static on the line. No Skype or Internet phone calls please.
Telephone Recording: Students will be sent link to a telephone recording of each class. If you cannot attend the "live" class, you can still register and attend via telephone recording. This has worked well for many students.
Instructor: David Curtis was given the title of Lama upon completion of the Three-Year Retreat, and then in 2007 he was awarded the title of Acharya (Master Teacher). He has dedicated himself since retreat to teaching the Tibetan language and Buddhism.
