Learn Classical Tibetan with Lama David Curtis at Our Seminars

Since 1995, our seminars have gathered together Western Dharma students from all over the US, Canada, and beyond–students from all schools of Tibetan spirituality–to study and learn together. TLI has invited guest teachers (Rinpoches, Asian and Western Lamas) to lead students through texts, and Lama David also has been hosted by many Dharma centers throughout the US, teachings many hundreds of Dharma students to read and translated Dharma Tibetan. These are joyous gatherings which have helped create a supportive community of Dharma students studying Tibetan.

TLI offers two options for Tibetan language seminars, both offering a great opportunity to learn in a group setting.

Host a Tibetan Language Seminar in Your Area

Lama David Curtis has taught Tibetan weekend seminars more than forty times all over the U.S. This is proved an excellent and efficient way for dharma groups to take their Buddhist practice to the next level. If your group would like to host David, it’s best to schedule at least 6 months in advance.

  • Students become more conversant with their Buddhist texts and prayers.

  • Students can prepare more thoroughly for retreats, thus entering into deeper dialogue with the tradition.

  • Centers can nurture chant leaders and in-house translators.

If you are interested in having David teach for you, please email info@tibetanlanguage.org for information about hosting.

TLI hosts Tibetan language seminars in Montana, often in the summertime. We have hosted six such seminars, often inviting guest teachers.

Past guest- and co-teachers have included Anam Thubten Rinpoche, Tulku Sangnak Rinpoche, Lama Chokyi Nyima (Richard Barron), Lama Sarah Harding, Lama Yeshe Wangmo, and Dr. John Pettit.
